Interim Spousal Support and Final Spousal Support Lawyer / Attorney

Spousal support (formerly known as alimony) may be awarded based on your need, the ability of your spouse to pay, and the standard of living which you were accustomed to during the marriage. Pending a determination of final spousal support, you may be awarded interim spousal support prior to the judgment of divorce even if the court determines you are not entitled to final spousal support. Generally, interim spousal support terminates once the judgment of divorce is rendered, however, this may be extended. To be awarded final spousal support you must be found to be free from fault prior to filing for divorce. If you are considering filing for divorce, you may be entitled to and awarded interim and/or final spousal support.
